Though Joe may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joe touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Arden Hargette; his son Joe Hargette, Jr.; and his parents, Robert Hargett and Rachel Hargett. He is survived by: his son Wayne Hargette (Jeannie); and his grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Johnathan (Ginny) and Andrew (Mollie). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe (204 S Main St, Monroe, NC 28112). A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Lakeland Memorial Park (1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112).
