She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Albert Rape and Louise Rape Helms; her husband Shirley Robert Preslar; her siblings, Arnold Helms and Ruth Rape Belk; her children, Roberta Preslar Dale of Waxhaw and Mitchell R. Preslar (Joyce) of New Salem; her grandchildren, Serena Preslar (Luis Jimenez), Matthew Preslar (Rebecca), Robert Vann Dale III (Kristi Isaacs Dale) and Brian Dale (Elizabeth); and her great grandchildren, Kathryn Dale, Victoria Dale of Brooklynn Dale, C. J, Fenoff, Colin Fish and Katelyn Fish.
