He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Linda Allen Melvin; his sister Martha Morrison; his stepdaughters, Daphnie Rhoads (Kent) and Stephanie Cole (David); his grandsons, Justin Rhoads (Tori), Jacob Rhoads (Elizabeth) and Brady Cole; his parents, Columbus Booth Melvin and Nellie Sullivan Melvin; and his sisters, Paula Leonard, Faye Edwards, Jean Swann and Becky Jenkins. He was also cherished by one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Larry's memory to CERA (Carolina Equine Rescue & Assistance) in recognition of Larry's love for his own miniature horses.
