He is survived by: his wife Susie Mical; his daughter Susanne Thom; his grandchildren, Bradley Thom, Kyle Thom (Diana) and Scarlet Thom; his pet Coco; his siblings-in-law, Ann and Don Shown; and his nephews, Lynn Coble (Donna) and David Coble. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The lying in state will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Roanoke Baptist Church (618 Roanoke Church Rd, Unionville, NC 28110). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 12:45 PM at the Lucy Helms Cemetery (4316 Hillcrest Church Rd, Unionville, NC 28110). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Roanoke Baptist Church (618 Roanoke Church Rd, Unionville, NC 28110). A reception will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gordon Funeral Service (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112).
