She was predeceased by: her husband Fanander Rushing; her parents, Hurley Chaney and Rosie Chaney; and her siblings, Thurman Chaney, Hayden Chaney and Joyce Bivens.

She is survived by: her children, Carolyn McKnight (Edward) and Ronnie Rushing; and her brother Aubrey Chaney. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
