He was predeceased by: his parents, Edison Odell Helms and Frances Jeanette Brown Helms; and his sister Frances Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Helms; his children, Renee Pressler (Allen) of Monroe, Andy Helms (Kristy) of Indian Trail and Kenny Helms (Tiffany) of Wingate; his siblings, Barbara Richardson of Monroe, Janet Keziah of Florida and Eddie Alvin Helms of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Kristen Roditis (Matthew), Victoria Tarlton, Lauren Stephens (Jared), Carter Helms and Piper Helms; and his great grandchild Lilly Roditis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
