It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nelson Boyd Howlett of Monroe, North Carolina, born in Norfolk, Virginia, who passed away on February 5, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Caroline Smith Howlett. He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Carter Howlett; his children, Eric Howlett, Anne Gathings (Clinton) and Terry Howlett; and his grandchildren, Michael Howlett (Lauren), Amanda Nichols (Bryan), Nicholas Gathings (Ellie), Ethan Howlett and Emily Howlett.

Memorial contributions may be made in Nelson's memory to the Shriners' Hospitals.
