He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Pruett Foy and Mary Jane Walden. He is survived by: his parents, Amy Blakely (Scott Blakely) of Marshville and Lt. Col. Steven Walden; his siblings, Jacob Walden and Patricia Walden; his grandparents, Jim, Patricia Thompson of Statesville and Ron Smith, Sr. of Rhome, Texas.; his uncle Ron R. Smith (Katherine Smith); and his cousins, Eli Smith, Lucy Smith and Ryder Smith. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Salvation Army Greater Hickory Corps, where Oliver's relationship with the Lord began as a Junior Soldier and as a member of the church band.
