We are sad to announce that on June 24, 2025, at the age of 80, Patsy Ruth Simpson Laney (Monroe, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Simpson and Ruth Mills Simpson; and her brothers, Bobby Simpson and Chuck Simpson. She is survived by: her husband Jerry Lee Laney; her daughters, Sharron Godfrey (Todd) and Terry Shaw (Wes); her sister Libby Brooks (Dennis); her sisters-in-law, Kathy Simpson and Karen Simpson; and her grandchildren, Kendall Godfrey, Landon Godfrey, Buck Shaw, Jackson Shaw and Skylar Shaw.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gordon Funeral Service (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112). A burial will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at the Lakeland Memorial Park (1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112).
