He was predeceased by: his parents, Sefton Grant Casner and Maude Belle VanWinkle Casner; his son Kevin Sefton Casner; and his siblings, James G. Casner, Jerome Casner, Leonard Casner, Bonnie Jean Casner Hovis and Doris Viola Casner (Cassie).
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Mullis Casner (Gerry); his children, Sandra Casner (Sandy) and Steven Casner (Steve); his grandchildren, Gerilyn Suggs-Utter, Rebecca S. Orman, Cooper Casner and Graham Casner; and his brother-in-law W. Scott Walker. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112). A reception will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 109 W. Morrow Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.
