She was predeceased by: her parents, George Washington Medlin and Daisy Price Medlin; her husband Allen Deese; her son Jeffery Deese; and her siblings, Kemp Medlin, Heath Medlin, Bob Medlin, G. W. Medlin, Dean Helms, Faye Helms, Ruth Medlin, Joyce Hannah, Carol Haigler and Ruby Wyles.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Helms (Tim) and Phillip "Gene" Deese; her brother Larry Medlin; her grandchildren, Nicholas Helms (Mia), David Deese (Casey) and Amelia Jordan (Scott); her great grandchildren, Alyssa, Samual Deese, Zachary and Kaleb Jordan; and her friend Josephine Howard.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Davis Chapel - Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Monroe (1003 E Franklin St, Monroe, NC 28112). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
