He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Arthur McCorkle and Effie McKenzie McCorkle; and his brothers, Heath and Herman McCorkle. He is survived by: his wife Linda Johnson McCorkle; his children, Stephanie Phillips (Bob), Eric McCorkle and Tonya Benton; his sister Henrietta Mangum; and his stepchildren, Chuck Shearin (Olivia), Joe Shearin (Sharon), Mike Shearin (Judy), Matt Shearin and Anita Shearin (Gary). He is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
