He is survived by: his daughter Tonya Helms (Ed); his grandchildren, Maria Helms, Christian Helms, Hanna Sephorah Alway, Jesse Alway and Sadie Helms; his mother-in-law Sarah Griffin; his nieces, Ginger Shaffer and Jennifer Prickett; his nephew Scott Funderburk; and his caregiver Jose Perez. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
