He is survived by: his wife Sherrie McRorie Smith; his children, Patrick Gene Smith (Tabatha), Jamie Smith and Ashley Mangum Trent (Jacksen); his grandchildren, McCall Smith Ware (Hagen), Dalton Smith, Jax Trent and Knox Trent; his great grandchild Harlen Ware; and his pet Haley.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery (6907 Gus Eubanks Rd, Monroe, NC 28112).
