She was predeceased by: her parents, William Roddey and Elizabeth Roddey; her husband Jimmie D. Phipps, Jr.; her grandson Bryant Kibler, Jr.; and her siblings, Bettie Baskin Lobato and William "Bill" Roddey.
She is survived by: her children, Roddey Phipps (Kelly) and Rebecca Blankenship; her brother Bob Roddey (Ann Spears); her granddaughters, Elizabeth "Elise" Warren (Brad), Sally Phipps (Nikita) and Caroline Phipps; and her great grandchildren, Abby, Tyler Warren and Phoebe Kibler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ Community Church, PO Box 279, Montreat, NC 28757.
