He was predeceased by : his father Judson Henry Herman; his brothers, Frank Herman, Bill Herman and Carl Herman; and his granddaughter Morgan Lovelace Collier.

He is survived by : his wife Susan Fisher Herman; his children, Kenny (Lisa), Mike Herman (Leigh), Sharon and Stephen Ledford; his sister Kay Eyler (Ed); his grandchildren, CJ Bumgardner (Cami), Matthew Herman, Ben Herman, Chase Lovelace (Brooke), Jake Herman, John Herman, Taylor Fowler (Michael), Hayley Weese, Brittany Rhodes (Trevor), Emily Herman, Macie Lovelace, Blakelee Lovelace, Lilli Ledford and Angelina Ledford; and his great grandchildren, Avery Lovelace and Brady Rhodes.
