He was predeceased by: his parents, Yates Wiseman Houser and Lorena Newton Houser; his son-in-law John Horton; and his brother Joe Houser. He is survived by: his wife Hazel Ann Houser; his children, Ashley Horton-Hill (Baxter) and Josh Houser of Mooresboro; his siblings, Wayne Houser, Mary Ann Ramsey, Lance Houser (Linda), Judy Ruppe, Mike Houser (Janet) and Ken Houser (LaDonna); his grandchildren, Gracie Houser, Zeke Houser, Lilliana Self (Dylan), Sumter Horton, Gunner Horton, Slade Horton, Avalyn Horton and Huxley Horton; and his great grandchild Adahlee Self.
A funeral service was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mt Pleasant Baptist Church (1301 Mt Pleasant Church Rd, Mooresboro, NC 28114). A celebration of life was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
