He is survived by: his wife Katy Gerrard Williams; his children, Laura Williams of Webster, Massachusetts, Karen Williams (Ben McPherron) of Boone and Banks Darrell Williams Jr. (Brandi Williams) of Troutman; his sister Jackie Cruse of Church Hill, Maryland.; his grandchildren, Joshua Banks Pring (Caitlin Pring), Jordan Reese (Alex Reese), Edith Goings (Cole Goings), James Williams and Katy Belle Williams; his great grandchildren, Lena Mae Reese and Banks Wyatt Pring; and his son-in-law Scott Hill.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home ((Hwy 150), 494 E Plaza Dr, Mooresville, NC 28115). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Davidson United Methodist Church (233 S Main St, Davidson, NC 28036). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Mimosa Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan Hill Nursing Oncology Scholarship at University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
