She was predeceased by: her husband Alexander Howard; her son Thomas Howard; her goddaughter Mary Jo McKuen; and her parents, Margaret Masse and Arthur Masse.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Howard (Gale) of Mooresville and Michael Howard (Leigh) of Aurora; and her grandchildren, Katie Stockton (Josh) of Mooresville and Kyle Howard (Kaylee) of Castle Hayne.
