He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene S. Bost and Mary Livingston Bost; his significant other Sherry Smith Bost; and his father-in-law Leroy Smith. He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Bost Morris (Jamie) of Mooresville and Meredith Bost of Kannapolis; his grandsons, Garrett Morris and Brett Morris; his mother-in-law Geraldine Smith; and his sisters, Carolyn Michael and Toni Story. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
