She was predeceased by: her parents, John Edward Thrower and Margaret Josephine Madagan Thrower; her siblings, Eddie Thrower, Margaret Matson, Edna Plyler and Evelyn Small; and her son-in-law Jamie Gilbert.
She is survived by: her husband Michael "Butch" Brannen; her children, Michael Brannen (Karen) and Amy Gilbert of Mooresville; her grandchildren, Whitney Brannen of Raleigh and David Brannen of Charlotte; her nieces, Terri Porcher (Eddie) of James Island, SC, Lori Rayano (Joe) of McConnells, SC and Debbie Vaught (James) of Conway, SC.; and her nephew Joe Small (Electa) of Georgetown, SC..
