He was predeceased by: his parents, Ford Mayhew and Irene Mayhew; and his sister Diane Day. He is survived by: his daughters, Myra Caldwell (Scott) and Cindy Hawkins; his brother Ricky Mayhew; his brother-in-law Dick Day; his grandchildren, Josh Williams, Cammie Hornaday, Nicole Hawkins, Holli Hawkins and Hannah Hawkins; and his great grandchildren, Will Williams, Aeriel Williams, Lily Hornaday, Maddie Hornaday, Cameron Curlee, Bryan Yoder and Connor Norton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McKendree Chapel (291 McKendree Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM at the same location.
