She was predeceased by : the father of her children Kirk Lusch. She is survived by : her parents, Michael Weeks and Pat Weeks; her husband Jerry D. Slaughter; her stepchildren, Jerry A. Slaughter and Aspen Slaughter; and her brothers, Dr. Michael O. Weeks and Adam L. Weeks. She is also survived by aunt, three cousins, a niece, a nephew, and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kathy's name to the Novant Health Cancer Institute, 170 Medical Park Road, Mooresville NC 28117.
