He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe (Peggy T. Kizzia) and Pruitt. He is survived by: his wife Leslie; his children, Jennifer Wood (Tanner Wood), Adam Kizzia, Jonathan Kizzia and Andrew Kizzia; his grandchildren, Aidan Wood, Liam Wood, Madeline Wood and Amelia Wood; and his siblings, Tom Kizzia and Carol Kizzia.

A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Cavin-Cook Chapel (494 E Plaza Dr, Mooresville, NC 28115). A graveside service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Willow Valley Cemetery (216 E McLelland Ave, Mooresville, NC 28115).
