He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Frey and Viriginia Gruver Frey; and his brothers, Benjamin F. Frey, Jr. and James Frederick Frey. He is survived by: his wife Beryl Glew Frey; his son Tyler; his siblings, Michael L. Frey, Steven C. Frey, David A. Frey and Gwenda D. Frey; and his siblings-in-law, David V. Glew, Charles R. Lowe, Glynnis B. Lowe, Susan Bordy and Judy Frey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
