He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Hancock and Johnsie Hancock; his daughter Kristi; and his brother Bill Honeycutt. He is survived by: his wife Cornelia Brown; his daughters, Stacie Brown (Robbie) and Lisa Searcy (Cliff); his half-brother Terry Honeycutt; his grandchildren, Meredith Searcy, Jared Searcy, Scotty Hancock, Zachary Shriver and Duncan Brown; and his great grandchildren, Jaxtyn Searcy, Koltyn Shriver, Mykenna Shriver and Bryndle Shriver.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Woodlawn Baptist Church (4622 Nations Crossing Rd, Charlotte, NC 28217). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Carolina Memorial Park (601 Mt Olivet Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28083).
