He is survived by: his wife Joan Ferrel Gant McGinnis; his sons, Thomas "Tommy" McGinnis (Lisa) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jon McGinnis (Kelly) of Mooresville, Richard McGinnis (Tina) of Mooresville and Robert McGinnis (Becky) of York, SC; his grandchildren, Kirby McGinnis of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kassidy McGinnis of Myrtle Beach, SC, Will McGinnis of New York, Alex McGinnis of Charlotte, Bethany Gilleland (Cole) of Rock Hill, SC, Taylor Estanislao (Jericho) of Huntersville, Madison Armstrong (Chad) of Cleveland, J. T, Jacob McGinnis of Dallas and Joshua McGinnis of York, SC; his great grandchild Mila Estanislao; and his brother Ronnie McGinnis (Vickie) of Cornelius.
