He is survived by: his children, Thornton Brooks, Jr. (Danette) of Mooresville, Warren Brooks (Amy) of Mooresville and Kim Mayfield of Mooresville; his grandchildren, Chelsea Brooks of Troutman, NC, Kayleigh Brooks, Spencer Mayfield of Huntersville, NC, Ben Mayfield (Amanda) of Charlotte, NC and Lindsay Brooks of Boone, NC.; and his cousin Elizabeth Smith (Lib) of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by caregiver who became like a daughter, and his nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Trinity Baptist Church (221 Ervin Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117).
