He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Kirby and Irene Wendell Kirby. He is survived by: his wife Holly A. Day Kirby; his children, Angela M. Kirby Bertha (Andy) and Noel K. Kirby Mergliano (Tony); his grandsons, Owen A. Mergliano and Henry W. Mergliano; and his niece Melody E. Benjamin (Rob).
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery (501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Peninsula Church (687 Brawley School Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117).
