She is survived by: her children, Cathryn Ruth (Matthew), John Jefferson (Debb) and Everette Snyder Newton (Robin); and her grandchildren, Bobbi Newton (Scott), Meg Newton Sassorossi (William), CJ Newton Yerage (Eddie), John Patrick Mullins, Katie Mullins (Kenneth), Caroline Mullins (Adrian), John J. Newton II (Macie), Jason Arter (Angie) and Amanda Arter. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory go to the Beaufort Boys and Girls Club or other organizations dedicated to resources for young people—a cause to which Sunny dedicated her life.
