He was predeceased by: his father James R. Porter Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Doris Porter (Earle) of Morehead City, N. C.; his siblings, Michelle Japp (Brian) of Greensboro, N. C. and Todd Porter (Angela) of New Bern, N. C.; and his nieces and nephews, Emma, Kyle and Mary-Lindsay.
