He is survived by: his wife Flora Horton Whitney of Morehead City; his children, Keisha Boutin (Pierre) of Queens, NY, Lesley Nieuwkerk (Sam) of Brooklyn, NY, Alejandra Nieuwkerk of Bronx, NY, Portia Hargrove of Staten Island, NY and Marvin Hargove Jr. (Mia) of Newport; his stepchildren, Deidra Felton of Morehead City and Derk Rogers of Taiwan; his mother Edna Lee Whitney of Sanford, NC; and his siblings, Margaret Burton of Silverdale, NC, Virginia Partridge of Hubert, Manuel Whitney of Hubert, Donald Whitney of Hubert, Marcus Whitney of Greensboro, Monette Daniels (Floyd) of Zebulon, Joyce Williams (Shawn) of Sanford and Dennis Whitney of Aulander, NC. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
