He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Haines and Ferne Haines (Willis); his siblings, Richard "Rich" Haines, Donald "Bud" Haines, Bonnie Feiazli and Norma Haines; his former wife Patricia Ricklic Haines; and his son Robert J. Haines Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Celia; and his children, Betsy Sumerlin (Wayland), Celia Farley (Coby), Christine Hatley (Shaune) and Brooks Moye (Julie). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
