He is survived by: his pet Pinschers; his wife Anne Knox Gilbert; his daughters, Carole Gilbert Overman (Marc) of Warrenton, Paula Gilbert Fratantoni (Dave) of Falmouth and Wendy Gilbert Knight (Patrick) of Boyce, Virginia; his grandchildren, William Overman (Helena) of Warrenton, Grace Overman (Billy Simmeth) of Sterling, Alex Fratantoni (Ruby Sanger) of Onset and Annalisa Fratantoni of New York; his niece Kim Bauerle of Wethersfield, Connecticut; and his great-niece Rylee Malone (Navy).
