He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Perkins and Mary Perkins; his brother James Otis Perkins; his sister-in-law Phyllis Perkins; his sisters, Patricia Perkins and Winnie Perkins; his sister-in-law Priscilla Perkins; and his niece Karen Miranda Perkins.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Perkins; his children, Carl "Pep" Hubert Perkins Jr. (Nikki), Tina Rutherford Connor (Jerome) and Tiffany Rutherford; his grandchildren, Trenton Kincaid, Ciara Rutherford, Tiara Rutherford, Jordan Rutherford, Zachary Johnson, Aquayla Johnson, Marisha Perkins and Jayson Perkins; and his siblings, Diane Perkins and William Perkins. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the McCain Funeral Home & Cremations (220 Avery Ave, Morganton, NC 28655). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at the Hartland Memorial Park.
