We announce the death of Joan M. Borden (Morganton, North Carolina), who passed away on July 15, 2026, at the age of 95. Joan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Joan will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Joan will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Joan’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henrietta Heflich and George Heflich; and her husband Rodney. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, along with many other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, it was Joan's wish that donations in her memory be made to the Salem United Methodist Church, 1200 Salem Road, Morganton, North Carolina 28655.
