He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Dr. Lois White Lowry; his children, Linda Anne Stunkard (Geoff) of Elizabethton, Robert Paul Lowry (Elizabeth) of Humaco, Dr. Jonathan Cardeen Lowry (Catherine) of Morganton, Debra Elizabeth Lowry-Hummel of Juno Beach and David Rittenhouse Lowry (Jennifer) of Flower Mound, Texas.; and his grandchildren, Laurel, John, Joel, Morgan, Daniel, Benjamin, Madison, Hans, Katharina, Lukas, Ethan and Jonathan.
He was a member of the finance committee of the Presbyterian Foundation Board for over seven years.
