He is survived by : his parents, James Townsend and Carolyn Townsend of Lenoir; his wife Amber Branch Townsend; his children, Tony Townsend Jr. of Lenoir, Rodney Townsend of Lenoir, Makenzie Branch of Morganton and Sierra Teague of Taylorsville; his brother Junior Townsend of Lenoir; and his grandchildren, Faith Teague, Braylyn Townsend, Elizabeth Williams and Russell Williams Jr..
