With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vanda Mae Mayhue (Morganton, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 7, 2025 at the age of 63. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Vanda Mae farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Vanda Mae is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her son Jody Auton; her parents, Ted Setzer and Lena Setzer; and her brother Ricky Setzer. She is survived by: her cousin Cynthia Roland; her daughter Becky Georges (Dusty); her grandchildren, Skylar and Lawson; her aunts, Janice Caraway and Kay Rhodes; and her cousin Bradley Woodie.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Praise Assembly of God (873 US-70, Morganton, NC 28655).
