He is survived by: his wife Lory Hodges; his stepson Brad Barnes of Elkin; his sister Jean Collins of Dobson; his grandchildren, Blane of Charlotte and Kalea of Charlotte; and his siblings-in-law, Lynn Pruitt and Billy Pruitt. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
