She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Hoosier and Ergle Sheets Hoosier; and her siblings, Paul Atkins, Thomas Hoosier, Melvin Hoosier, Geneva Hash and Carolyn Funk.
She is survived by: her daughters, Crystal Arnder Chappell (Anthony) of Mt. Airy and Peggy Shaffner of Mt. Airy; her grandchildren, Javer Chappell of Mt. Airy, Lucas Chappell of Mt. Airy and Sayler Chappell of Mt. Airy; her siblings, Sue Funk (Curt) of Fries, VA, Barbara Cornett of Fries, VA and Roger Hoosier of Fries, VA; her close friends, Diane Michael, Treasa Roberts and Cheryl Sage; and her stepgrandchildren, Zoe, Taylor, Caleb Arnder, Matthew and Novella Nester. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Brenda to the Special Olympics of Surry County or the Surry County Animal Shelter.
