He was predeceased by: his parents, George L. Sumner, Sr. and Sarah Colleen Edwards Sumner; and his siblings, Deborah K. Bridges and Douglas Sumner. He is survived by: his siblings, Donna Lynn Brown, Brandy Renee Dowdy, Michael Sumner (Janice) and Tommy Sumner, Sr.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Home (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM at the Midkiff Family Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
