She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Riley "Tommy" Moore and Trisha Tolbert Moore; her foster parents, Houston Moore and Etta Moore; her husbands, Curtis Mayes and Woodrow Jarrell; her siblings, Edd Moore of Sanford, NC and Mary Lee Moore Kittrell; her children, David Lee Mayes, Delane Dale Mayes, Nelvra Mayes Dozier, Dennis Curtis Mayes and Nedra Ann Mayes Edwards; and her sons-in-law, Kenneth Earl Dozier and Larry Dean Payne.
She is survived by: her daughter Shirley Mayes Payne of Dobson, NC. She is also survived by 14 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, 16 Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ladonia Baptist Church (163 Raven Knob Rd, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
