She was predeceased by: her parents, Benton Albert and Leavie Goins Horton; her sisters, Rosie Inez Horton and Shirley Horton McKeithan; and her pet Marley.
She is survived by: her children, Misty (Kevin Taylor), Wendy Boyd Venable and Willie; her daughter-in-law Christie Gwyn; her grandchildren, Colburn, Kendra Gwyn, Sydney Gwyn, Camden, Jackson Vaughan, Lacey Taylor and Ethan Venable; and her brothers, Ellis (Cathy Horton) and Roy Horton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oakdale Cemetery (1500 N Main St, Mt Airy, NC 27030).
