He was predeceased by: his parents, William Earl Loftis and Alma Dora Beamer Loftis; his wife Patsy Jean Midkiff Loftis; and his half-siblings, Betsy Loftis Cox, Linda Loftis Watts, Patricia Loftis Midkiff, Barry Loftis and Harry Loftis.

He is survived by: his daughter Denise Loftis Glace; his son-in-law Dr. Charles Lawrence Glace; his grandsons, James William Glace and Christopher Lawrence Glace (Leah Ressler Glace); his great grandchild Elliott Michael Glace; and his half-sister Frances Loftis Cox. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Midkiff Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Western North Carolina Alzheimer's Chapter.
