She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Raymond and Bertha Bullington Covington; and her sisters, Madge Denny and Sue Lackey. She is survived by: her sons, Carl William Needham (Ginger) of Calabash and Raymond Douglas Needham (Tammy) of Mount Airy; her grandsons, Brandon Needham (Carmel) of Charleston, SC, Nicholas Needham of Raleigh and Logan Needham (Miranda) of Waynesville; her stepgrandson Brandon Sawyers (Bristol Sawyers) of Mount Airy; and her caregiver Vivian Milner. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Grace Moravian Church (1401 N Main St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Moravian Church, 1401 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030; or the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017.
