It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Katherine Sechrist McMillian of Mount Airy, North Carolina, who passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Sechrist and Mary Fulp Sechrist; her husband Rev. James John McMillian; her children, Jimmy McMillian and Patricia McMillian; and her siblings, Mary Ruth Hiatt, Louise Easter, Jessie and Frank Sechrist.
She is survived by: her children, Frances Tate (Carl Ray), Ann Fleenor (Don), Brenda Easter (Johnny), Wade McMillian (Debbie), Arnold McMillian (Karen Hazelwood) and Johnny McMillian (Pam); her brothers, Dennis Sechrist and Luther Ray Sechrist; her close friend Lala Warner; and her pets, Coco, Peanut and Rocky. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moody Funeral Services (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church (125 Maple Dr, Mt Airy, NC 27030).
