With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Loretta Leigh Mooney of Mount Airy, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on April 13, 2024 at the age of 52. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Geniva Elois Young and Mooney; and her former life partner Johnny W. Barneycastle. She is survived by : her husband Chris Mooney.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moody Funeral Services (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:45 AM at the Skyline Memory Gardens (432 Old Buck Shoals Rd, Mt Airy, NC 27030).
