He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Benge and Dorothy Collins Benge; his son Letcher Hugh Benge; his granddaughter Tiffany Robertson; and his sister Katherine Parrish.
He is survived by: his wife Deanna York Benge; his children, Ezekiel Benge, Zebadiah Benge, Sandra Wood (Junior), Jesse Benge, Renee Robertson (Tim), Ralph Benge Jr. and Ricky Benge; his siblings, Virginia Jirtle (Terry) and Jimmy Benge; his niece Laura Butner; and his great-niece Kenni Butner. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (206 W Pine St, Mt Airy, NC 27030). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Liberty Baptist Church (9023 W Pine St, Lowgap, NC 27024). A burial will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 2:45 PM at the same location.
Flowers will be received or donations may be made to Bible Baptist Church, c/o Rev. Robert Farmer, PO Box 63, Lowgap, NC 27024 in honor of Mr. Benge.
