She was predeceased by: her parents, Earlie W. Vernon and Irene Parker Vernon; her husband John N. Butler; and her brother Ace Vernon. She is survived by: her daughter Andrea K. Dehart (Jim); her grandchildren, Randi Hovatter (Joshua), Heather Hickman (Erwin) and Jarrett Dehart; her great grandchildren, Maddisyn Johnson, Waylon Hovatter and E. J. Hickman; her daughters, Angela Palmer (Stan) and Penny Sys (Cory); and her siblings, Carroll Semones, Brenda Costantino (Jim), Danette "Dani" Vernon and Tony Vernon (Sharon).
A graveside service was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Midkiff Cemetery (428 Quaker Road, Mt Airy, NC 27030).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 137 Antioch Avenue, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
